Breaking News: Detroit Lions receive devastating news on injured ………read more.

The Detroit Lions faced their first major training camp injury on Tuesday when defensive lineman John Cominsky was hurt and had to be carted off the field.

Unfortunately, the prognosis is not positive. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cominsky suffered a torn MCL and is expected to be out indefinitely, with a possible return for the playoffs. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that Cominsky will undergo surgery and is likely to miss five to six months, which could allow him to return for the playoffs.

This is tough news for Cominsky, who accepted a pay cut earlier this offseason. The Lions, already dealing with limited depth at the edge position, will be further strained by his absence, highlighting their need for more help in this area.

Cominsky has been with the Lions for the past two seasons, recording six sacks over 30 games (19 starts). Before joining Detroit, he spent three seasons with the Falcons, playing in 27 games (one start) and accumulating 1.5 sacks.

Cominsky is in the final year of his contract and is set to become a free agent in 2025.
