HE IS BACK AGAIN: Kyle Clifford Returns to Maple Leafs Organization Once Again

Kyle Clifford spent two seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs from 2021 to 2023, but his most significant contribution has been as a leader with the AHL’s Marlies. The team has now re-signed the valuable veteran to a new contract. The former two-time Stanley Cup winner has spent much of the past two seasons with the Marlies and is returning on a one-year deal.

News of the Toronto Marlies re-signing Kyle Clifford to an AHL contract has emerged. Clifford, 33, has been with the Marlies for parts of the last three seasons and previously won a Stanley Cup with the Los Angeles Kings in 2014.

Jacob Stoller (@JLStoller) shared the news on July 31, 2024, noting Clifford’s role as a leader and enforcer with the young players at the AHL level. According to Nick Barden of The Hockey News, several Marlies players and head coach John Gruden have praised Clifford for the experience and protection he brings to the team.
