Fans were astonished by Max Verstappen’s performance at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Fans can't believe what Max Verstappen did during Belgian GP as new onboard footage emerges

Last weekend, the 80th Belgian Grand Prix took place at Spa-Francorchamps. Despite a grid penalty for an engine change that relegated Verstappen to 11th position, the reigning Formula 1 world champion skillfully worked his way up to fifth place. He ultimately finished fourth after George Russell was disqualified for an underweight car.

New onboard footage reveals Verstappen, traveling at 335 km/h, giving Fernando Alonso a cheeky wave as he passed him early in the race.

Earlier this year, Alonso noted their similarities, saying in a DAZN documentary, according to Planet F1: “While Verstappen was perhaps a bit wilder in his early days with some incidents, he is now a very respectable driver on track. Off the track, we share many interests and a deep love for racing, prioritizing the sport over the spectacle.”
