Pat Hoban signs for Derry City

### League of Ireland Gameweek 26 Preview

#### Drogheda United vs Bohemians
Former Ireland under-21 assistant manager Alan Reynolds may be feeling the pressure if his side suffers another away defeat. With six wins in his 19 matches in charge, the 50-year-old needs to improve this record to avoid serious relegation trouble for Bohemians.

Ross Tierney and Dayle Rooney are key creative players, but Reynolds needs more from forward James Akintunde, who has only five league goals and just one in his last ten games. The team’s lack of scoring power is a major reason they are edging closer to the relegation play-off zone.

Drogheda United secured a crucial three points at home against Waterford in their last outing, marking back-to-back wins in all competitions for the first time this season. Manager Kevin Doherty’s tactical setup was spot on in the 2-0 victory over Waterford. Having already beaten Bohemians at home in March, Drogheda could make it two wins out of two at Weavers Park against this week’s opponents.

#### Dundalk vs Galway United
Both Dundalk and Galway United have two wins, two losses, and one draw in their last five league matches. Galway has won the last three encounters, dating back to September 2023, and has not conceded in any of those games. However, Galway continues to struggle offensively, as shown in their lack of major opportunities during the defeat at the Showgrounds.

Dundalk also faces scoring challenges, with the fewest goals in the League of Ireland Premier Division. Jamie Gullan and Daryl Hogan have been involved in 13 of their 18 goals, but there are promising signs from Ryan O’Kane and Jad Hakiki, who shined in their 4-2 win over Louth rivals Drogheda in mid-July.
