The 33-year-old joins after serving as interim manager at Wealdstone, where he helped the club secure its place in the National League.

Cox portrayed fictional West Ham United player Armando in season three of the Apple TV show about an American football coach managing in the Premier League.

Cox described his experience on the show as “fantastic,” stating, “I never imagined I would have the opportunity to appear on a global TV series.”

During his senior football career, Cox has made nearly 350 appearances, including 32 international caps for Guyana, where he serves as captain. He also led his country to their first major tournament, the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup.

When asked what fans could expect from him, Cox replied, “Positivity – a style and philosophy that is hopefully attractive, and ultimately winning football matches.”

“I know where I feel I can take this football club, and I’m going to do my very best to achieve that,” he added.

Cox mentioned that he still keeps in touch with some of the Ted Lasso cast and crew, adding, “Who knows, they might even visit Oxford City one day.”
