Lakers News: Men’s Basketball Olympic Quarterfinals Matchups Determined

Team USA has officially advanced to the quarterfinals of the Men’s basketball competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after defeating Puerto Rico. They will face Brazil on Tuesday, August 6, for a chance to move on to the semifinals.

The USA-Brazil game is one of three quarterfinal matchups on Tuesday, with the others being France vs. Canada, Serbia vs. Australia, and Germany vs. Greece.

Team USA remains undefeated in the Olympics this year, having won all three of their group stage games. The only other unbeaten teams are Germany and Canada. Germany secured victories over Japan, France, and Brazil, while Canada triumphed over Spain, Australia, and Greece.

Team USA’s journey began with a 110-84 win over Serbia, followed by a 103-86 victory against South Sudan, and concluded the group stage with a 104-83 win over Puerto Rico. Should they advance to the semifinals, Team USA will face the winner of the Serbia-Australia match.
