In addition to AC Milan, two English clubs are interested in signing Switzerland U19 international Bruno Ogbus, who has Nigerian heritage. Transfer market expert and Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg reported on Tuesday that both Championship side Leeds United and Premier League club Nottingham Forest are keen on the talented SC Freiburg teenager.

However, SC Freiburg have stated that the dual-national central defender is not available for transfer this window. The Bundesliga team recently turned down a low single-digit million offer from AC Milan, believing that Ogbus has the potential to join their first team soon.

Should SC Freiburg retain the Super Eagles-eligible defender beyond the current transfer window, he is anticipated to debut in the Bundesliga in the upcoming season.

Freiburg head coach Julian Schuster included Ogbus in first team training during the pre-season and played him in friendlies against SCR Altach, RC Strasbourg, and SpVgg Greuther Fürth. Schuster commended the 18-year-old for meeting the high physical and mental demands during the first team’s training camp in Schruns.

Ogbus began his career with FC Zürich’s academy before transferring to SC Freiburg in January 2022. Born in Neunkirch, Ogbus was provisionally cap-tied to Switzerland after playing for the U17s in a European Championship qualifier in March 2022.
