Done Deal: Leeds United Has Signed Real Madrid Star Arda Güler For…………read more.

Leeds suffered a defeat in their opening Championship match today but are aiming to bolster their squad by signing one of Chelsea’s rising stars.

The team conceded three goals at home against Portsmouth, making for a disappointing start to the 24/25 season and already putting some pressure on manager Daniel Farke.

Farke has had to contend with the departures of key players like Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray this summer. Additionally, with Marseille threatening to hijack their bid for Jonathan Rowe, the transfer window is shaping up to be a challenging one for Leeds.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds are among the clubs interested in securing the services of England and Chelsea youth talent Bashir Humphreys.

Leeds eyeing Bashir Humphreys from Chelsea
Romano shared an update on Humphreys via X, stating that Leeds, along with clubs in Germany, are eager to acquire the Chelsea defender. Humphreys is set to leave either on a permanent transfer or a loan, with Chelsea leaning towards a sale.

Bashir Humphreys is an ‘outstanding’ prospect for Leeds
Humphreys is aware that opportunities at Chelsea may be limited, making it an opportune time for him to move on. Despite his young age, the 21-year-old center-back gained valuable experience during a loan spell with Swansea last season, where he was praised by Michael Duff for his exceptional performance.

Duff noted, “Bashir Humphreys was outstanding today, his mentality is great. For such a young player to go one-on-one with someone of Jamie Vardy’s caliber and experience was impressive. He is quick and makes intelligent runs, so I was very pleased with Bashir today, despite the unfortunate result.”

Leeds could be an ideal destination for Humphreys, as both he and the club look to grow and advance this season.
