Latest Transfer News and Rumors for Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur as They Prepare for the New Premier League Season

Chelsea will kick off the 2024/25 Premier League season with a home match against reigning champions Manchester City next Sunday. Before that, they have one more friendly lined up against Inter Milan.

Tottenham Hotspur, on the other hand, will begin their campaign with an away game against newly promoted Leicester City. Here’s a roundup of some of the latest news and rumors surrounding both clubs…

Chelsea Interested in Striker
According to the Daily Star, Chelsea are reportedly interested in Brighton and Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson, but they face competition from Manchester United. The 19-year-old forward is under contract with Brighton until June 2029, so the club is under no immediate pressure to sell unless an irresistible offer comes in.

Ferguson has a promising career ahead of him. Since joining Brighton in 2020, he has broken into their first team, making 65 appearances across all competitions and scoring 16 goals, six of which were last season. Before moving to England, Ferguson played for St Kevin’s Boys and Bohemians.

Chelsea may see Ferguson as a valuable addition to strengthen their attacking options, with the transfer deadline looming at the end of this month.

Spurs’ Full-Back Target Update
A potential move for Spurs-linked Kyle Walker-Peters from Southampton is reportedly “still on the cards” in the coming weeks, as per GiveMeSport. TalkSPORT initially reported back in May that a return to Tottenham could be a possibility.

Walker-Peters came up through the Spurs academy, where he was a regular at various youth levels. He made 24 appearances for Tottenham’s first team before leaving the club in 2019.
