After selling Niclas Füllkrug to West Ham, Borussia Dortmund has opted to reinvest the proceeds in a younger German striker.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Black and Yellows have reached an agreement with Hoffenheim forward and Germany international Maximilian Beier. The 21-year-old striker is set to sign a 5-year contract with Dortmund.
However, Dortmund still needs to finalize the transfer terms with Hoffenheim. Their initial offer of €25 million plus bonuses has been made, but Hoffenheim is seeking a higher fee for their key player. The “Bees” are expected to submit a new offer soon.
Last season, Beier scored 16 goals and provided 3 assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances.
It’s worth mentioning that Borussia Dortmund finished last season in fifth place in the Bundesliga but reached the Champions League final, where they were defeated 0-2 by Real Madrid.
