Done Deal: AC Milan Has Signed bayern munich Star jamal musiala On…………read more.

After a disappointing run of one win in nine games towards the end of the previous season, there were widespread calls for Stefano Pioli’s departure. He left AC Milan during the summer, with the team set to face Torino this weekend. Many felt that the squad had been in decline since their Serie A title win two years ago, leading to Paulo Fonseca’s appointment as the new head coach at San Siro.

Fonseca, who had a standout season with LOSC Lille in Ligue 1, where his team recorded the most clean sheets and scored the second-most goals, was recruited by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, now overseeing operations at San Siro from a higher position.

Ibrahimovic faces a significant challenge in revitalizing AC Milan, aiming to make them competitive again, potentially contending with Inter Milan and Juventus. Fonseca will start his tenure against Torino, a team that has struggled to win at San Siro for nearly 30 years.

To be precise, Torino last won away at AC Milan in March 1985, leaving new manager Paolo Vanoli with a daunting task. Vanoli, a former assistant to Antonio Conte, takes over from Ivan Juric, who parted ways with the club under strained circumstances.

Torino narrowly missed out on European football last season, and despite having kept 18 clean sheets, Vanoli will need to maintain high standards. A top-ten finish is seen as a realistic goal for a largely consistent team, and securing a win at San Siro could set Torino up for a promising season. There has been significant transfer activity at San Siro. Veteran striker Olivier Giroud has been replaced by Spanish captain Alvaro Morata, who is expected to lead the attack against Torino. The rest of the squad is likely to maintain a familiar structure.

Malick Thiaw will continue alongside Fikayo Tomori in central defense, with Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez in the full-back positions. New signing Emerson Royal may need to vie for a spot on the bench, with Alessandro Florenzi’s long-term injury giving Royal a chance to compete with Calabria for a starting role.

In midfield, Tijjani Reijnders and Ismael Bennacer are anticipated to partner up, while Rafael Leao, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Christian Pulisic are set to feature in attack. Pulisic is expected to recover from an ankle injury that caused him to miss the Trofeo Berlusconi and be available for the match against Torino.
