Crystal Palace is expected to turn down a fourth offer from Newcastle for defender Marc Guehi, which is believed to be close to the £65 million asking price. Earlier this week, Palace rejected a £60 million bid for the 24-year-old, who played a key role in England’s journey to the Euro 2024 final. Palace chairman Steve Parish has praised Guehi as a “superstar” and emphasized that Newcastle will need to pay a premium if they want to secure his transfer.

Newcastle’s latest bid included add-ons, but the structure of the deal was not finalized with Palace. The Magpies’ record transfer currently stands at £63 million for Alexander Isak. Despite ongoing negotiations, Palace turned down Newcastle’s third offer, which reportedly included £55 million upfront and £5 million in add-ons.

Steve Parish has made it clear that Newcastle must pay “superstar money” if they want to lure Guehi away from Selhurst Park. The England international is Newcastle manager Eddie Howe’s top target for the center-back position. While Howe did not directly address Parish’s comments or mention Guehi by name, he emphasized the importance of making signings that will have a lasting impact on the team.
