Done Deal: Wolves Has Signed Ollie Watkins To Replace………………read more.
Pedro Neto has officially joined Chelsea from Wolves in a deal worth £54 million. The agreement includes an initial payment of £51.4 million, with an additional £2.6 million in potential add-ons. Neto has signed a seven-year contract with the club and was introduced to Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge during halftime of Sunday’s pre-season friendly against Inter Milan.
Neto expressed his gratitude for joining Chelsea, stating, “I feel really grateful to have joined this club. I have worked really hard in my career to be here and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this shirt.”
Wolves acknowledged that the transfer was “the right deal at the right time” and are actively working on finding a replacement for Neto.
Neto, who was also targeted by Tottenham earlier this summer, had a strong season with Wolves, contributing three goals and 11 assists despite missing three months due to hamstring injuries. The Portuguese winger, capped 10 times by his national team and part of their Euro 2024 squad, now joins Chelsea’s attacking options, which include Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Raheem Sterling.
Neto is Chelsea’s 10th signing of the summer, joining a host of new additions to Enzo Maresca’s squad, including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen, Omari Kellyman, and others. Chelsea has also secured a deal for Palmeiras teenager Estevao Willian, who will join the team next summer.
