Leicester City continue to show interest in Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson this summer, but his wages could pose a challenge.

According to John Percy of The Telegraph, Leicester City are still keen on signing Nelson, although his weekly wages, which exceed £120,000, are a significant hurdle.

Earlier in the summer, Nelson was linked to Leicester, but it was reported that his salary demands were beyond their budget. Despite this, Leicester remains interested in the player.

Charles Watts from the Daily Briefing reports that Arsenal is open to letting Nelson go if a suitable offer comes in, but no such offers have been received so far. While nothing concrete is happening with Nelson at the moment, the situation could change as the transfer deadline approaches.

West Ham United had also been linked with Nelson, but after signing Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United, they are unlikely to pursue him.

Earlier this summer, David Ornstein reported that Arsenal was looking for a fee of around £20 million, including add-ons, to sell Nelson. With his contract running until 2027, with an option to extend to 2028, Arsenal is under no pressure to accept a lower offer.

Nelson, who played 639 minutes for Arsenal’s first team in the 2023/24 season, was on the bench for their match against Wolves on Saturday.
