Done Deal: Leeds United Has Signed Hannibal Mejbri, according to…………..read more.

Leeds United are reportedly interested in acquiring Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported on Wednesday (21 August, page 61) that while Leeds are monitoring the 21-year-old’s situation, Burnley currently leads the race to secure his signature.

Mejbri spent the latter half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Sevilla, where he made only six appearances before returning to Manchester United.

Leeds United are keen to sign Hannibal Mejbri, as manager Daniel Farke is pushing for reinforcements before the transfer window closes on 30 August. Farke is looking to bring in at least four new players, according to The Athletic.

Georginio Rutter’s £40 million transfer to Brighton is the latest departure from Elland Road, leaving Leeds yet to replace the many players who have exited during the summer window. With the losses of Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray, Glen Kamara, and now Rutter, Farke is facing a lack of depth in several areas, including the midfield.

Given Mejbri’s previous Championship experience with Birmingham City, where he made 41 appearances and scored a stunning free-kick, he could be a viable short-term loan option. However, his disciplinary record is a concern, as he picked up 10 yellow cards during his time at St Andrew’s Stadium and is sometimes criticized for being overly aggressive in regaining possession.

Leeds will need to act swiftly to secure Mejbri’s signature, as other clubs are also interested, but this is not a new challenge at Elland Road. With only nine days left in the transfer window, Leeds’ late dealings have caused frustration among fans.

In related news, Leeds United have approached Feyenoord for a potential forward signing.
