AC Milan defender Fode Ballo-Toure is expected to pass his medical if Leeds United proceed with signing him, according to Dr. Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert notes that while the 27-year-old left-back’s limited game time last season could increase his risk of injury if he moves to England, this is not likely to cause any issues during his medical evaluation.
This follows a report from Foot Mercato on July 17 indicating that Leeds United is interested in signing the Senegal international.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a Physical Therapy and Sports Science specialist, commented on Ballo-Toure:
“I highly doubt that a lack of game time would cause him to fail a medical unless there’s an exceptional issue, so he’s likely to pass it. However, the lack of game time could still be a concern as it may increase his injury risk.
“To minimize the risk of injury, he will need to be gradually introduced with limited minutes. Leeds will need to manage his playing time carefully as he integrates into the squad and the league, which likely means he won’t start in the first few games.”
Ballo-Toure would be a solid addition to Leeds United, providing competition for Junior Firpo at left-back and enhancing the squad’s depth and quality.
The 27-year-old, with experience in top leagues and at AC Milan, brings a level of pedigree that could push Firpo to improve his performance or serve as a high-quality alternative.
