SHOCKING REPORT: Minnesota Vikings key player Akayleb Evans has been suspended from participating in all sports activities for playing a bet aginst……

Tomorrow marks the official deadline for NFL roster cutdowns. By tomorrow afternoon, every team in the league must reduce their rosters from 90 to 53 players. While many cuts have already been made, there’s still plenty of movement to come, and it won’t just involve players being waived or released.

Trades are a strong possibility as teams aim to get value for players they might otherwise cut, while others seek to acquire talent without facing the full competition of the free-agent market. One player who could be on the move is Minnesota Vikings cornerback Akayleb Evans.

According to Alec Lewis, who covers the Vikings for The Athletic, the team is likely looking to trade the third-year corner. Trading Evans could open up a roster spot for someone like Dwight McGlothern, who has been impressive throughout training camp and the preseason.

Beyond just making room for a promising young player, if the Vikings can trade Evans for a late-round draft pick, it would give them more flexibility heading into the 2025 NFL Draft. Currently, the Vikings have only three picks in the next draft, though they are expected to receive a compensatory pick for lost free agents, which hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Acquiring an additional pick for Evans would give the team a slightly better position in the draft and more options to maneuver. This situation could be further improved if the team decides to trade another defensive back, Lewis Cine, and is successful in doing so.
