Fans will soon have the opportunity to watch seven New York sports teams on a single media platform. YES Network and MSG Networks have announced the launch of a new app called “The Gotham Sports App,” set to debut this fall. The app will provide direct-to-consumer access to the New York Yankees and six other teams from the Empire State.
Andrea Greenberg, president and CEO of MSG Networks, explained that the app offers fans a convenient way to access New York-area sports events from both MSG Networks and YES Network amidst the growing variety of sports programming outlets.
In addition to the Yankees, the app will feature coverage of the Brooklyn Nets, Buffalo Sabres, , New New Jersey DevilsYork Islanders, New York Knicks, and New York Rangers.
The app will be available for free to consumers with traditional pay TV packages that include both YES and MSG Networks, and will cost $41.99 per month for those without such packages.
