Done Deal: Leeds United Has Signed Ivan Toney Before………………read more.

It’s uncertain whether Leeds United will bolster their midfield options this week. After having a £13 million bid for Sheffield United’s Gus Hamer rejected, the Whites may now turn their attention to Bournemouth’s Phillip Billing.

According to Sun journalist Alan Nixon, the Blades have joined Leeds and Burnley in pursuing Billing. Reports indicate that Billing is likely to leave Bournemouth before the transfer window closes, as he has slipped down the pecking order for a starting spot at the Premier League club. Last season, he made only 13 league starts as Bournemouth secured a mid-table finish.

Billing, a Danish international, joined Bournemouth from Huddersfield Town in 2019 for a reported £15 million fee. The 28-year-old, who has made 143 Premier League appearances, still has three years left on his contract. He came off the bench in Bournemouth’s opening-day draw against Nottingham Forest.

Billing is known as a ball-playing midfielder who prefers to play in advanced areas but can also operate in a deeper role if needed. With Sheffield United reportedly valuing Hamer at £18 million, Billing might be seen as a more affordable option for Leeds as the summer transfer window nears its end. Billing contributed 10 goals from midfield to help Bournemouth achieve promotion to the Premier League two years ago.

Standing at 6ft 6ins, Billing would add a physical presence to Leeds’ midfield. Currently, manager Daniel Farke has Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev, Joe Rothwell, and youngster Charlie Crew as options in the center of the park.
