The 20-year-old Italy international joined Leeds United from Swiss side FC Zurich in 2022 and has since made 76 appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals.

He played in last season’s play-off final, where Leeds were defeated 1-0 by Southampton, and has featured in all three Championship games so far this season.

“I’m really pleased with this extension,” Gnonto said on the club’s website. “Since the beginning, Leeds has felt like a second home to me. I’ve loved my time here, and with the club’s ambitions, I see my future here.

“I believe I have a lot to offer. I’m aware of my strengths and character, and I always strive to give my best. I think everyone can see that.”

Gnonto became Italy’s youngest goalscorer at 18 when he scored against Germany in a Nations League match in June 2022.
