DONE DEAL: Another mage star player committed to the Birmingham City on a 7-year contract for a…..

Birmingham City has signed Jay Stansfield from Fulham on a seven-year contract for a record fee in League One.

Although Birmingham had been linked with Stansfield throughout the summer, it seemed unlikely they would finalize a deal for the young striker. Marco Silva had previously indicated that Stansfield would remain at Craven Cottage beyond the summer transfer window.

Birmingham had already added Alfie May and Lyndon Dykes to their squad, but with the departures of Scott Hogan and Stansfield from last season, they sought additional attacking options. John Percy reported that Birmingham made a final bid of around £9 million to £10 million for Stansfield, but this was initially rejected by Fulham, making the deal appear uncertain.

Despite the challenges, Birmingham’s ambitious owners and new manager Chris Davies, who was supported with significant funds, managed to secure Stansfield just before the 11pm deadline. The considerable expenditure for a third-tier club is notable, and Stansfield’s agreement to join reflects his commitment to Birmingham’s long-term goals.
