Peptic ulcers forced Bruce Springsteen to cut short his 2023 tour with the E Street Band after performing three shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford in September. However, they assured fans they would return.
True to their word, Springsteen is back and in top form, having resumed his 2024 tour in Phoenix in March and performing across Europe. The band recently finished two shows at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia and is heading to Washington, D.C., on September 7, with the tour set to conclude in Vancouver on November 22.
Aside from touring, Springsteen has also been busy with new music. He recently released the third single, “She Don’t Love Me Now,” from the upcoming Jesse Malin tribute album, *Silver Patron Saints: The Songs Of Jesse Malin*.
The single was discussed on New Jersey 101.5 by talk show host Steve Trevelise, who interviewed Jerry Rubino, a veteran in radio and the music industry.
Jesse Malin, a rock musician and songwriter from Queens, New York, who first gained attention with the band Heart Attack and later as the lead vocalist of D Generation, suffered a rare spinal stroke in May 2023. The stroke left him paralyzed from the waist down, and he is currently undergoing intensive physical therapy and stem-cell treatments.
Malin expressed surprise and gratitude upon learning that, while he was focused on recovery at a clinic in Argentina, his friends and album producers were arranging for various artists to contribute to the tribute album. He particularly praised Bruce Springsteen for his contribution, noting that Springsteen’s rendition added the “Stax-soul thing” they envisioned when recording the original track for Malin’s 2015 album, *New York Before The War*.
