Leeds United manager Daniel Farke mentioned that this summer’s transfer window was easier than his first in 2023, though still more challenging than anticipated.

Farke had to cope with the departure of key players like Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville, and Georginio Rutter to Premier League clubs this summer. He stated, “It wasn’t as tough as last season since there weren’t as many loan and exit clauses, but losing key players still requires a rebuilding process.”

Farke emphasized the need to reinforce the squad in the next 48 hours, particularly in midfield and full-back positions. He expressed hope and expectation that some deals would be completed before the window closes on Friday.

Regarding potential departures, Farke added that while the unpredictability of the business means nothing is certain, he doesn’t anticipate losing any more key players and is more focused on strengthening rather than weakening the squad.

Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe scored in the second half to secure an unbeaten Leeds a 2-0 win, handing Hull their first loss of the Championship season.

Joseph opened the scoring in the 63rd minute, neatly converting a near-post cross from debutant Manor Solomon. Substitute Piroe added a second nine minutes from time, finishing coolly from a Junior Firpo cross.

These goals in an exciting Yorkshire derby extended Daniel Farke’s side’s unbeaten run to four league games.

For Hull, managed by Tim Walter, their record stands at three draws and one loss after four games as they head into the international break.

Daniel Farke hailed a “perfect finish” to the opening month as Leeds beat Hull 2-0 to maintain their unbeaten start to the Championship season.

Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe scored second-half goals to hand the Whites a second successive win and condemn the Tigers to their maiden loss of the campaign.

Joseph neatly turned in a left-wing cross from debutant Manor Solomon at the near post in the 63rd minute before substitute Piroe finished coolly nine minutes from time from Junior Firpo’s cross.

Those second-half strikes in an entertaining Yorkshire derby ensured Farke’s men made it four leagues games without defeat and followed last Friday’s 2-0 win at Sheffield Wednesday.
