Reese Witherspoon is grieving the loss of her cherished dog, Hank. The actress shared the sad news on her Instagram Stories, revealing that her beloved Chocolate Labrador, who had been with her for over a decade, has passed away.
Accompanying a photo of Hank sitting on a welcome mat, Reese honored him as the “best family pet and pack leader,” expressing how much they will miss his “sweet spirit.”
Reese’s daughter, Ava Phillippe, also paid tribute to Hank on Instagram, noting that he was 14 and a half years old at the time of his passing, though the cause of death was not disclosed. Ava remembered Hank as a dog full of “pure love” with a tail that was always wagging, thanking him for making every day special.
Reese’s son, Deacon Phillippe, shared a brief but heartfelt tribute on Instagram, posting a photo of himself hugging Hank and describing him as “the happiest dog that ever lived.”
Hank’s death comes nearly four years after Reese lost another family pet, her French Bulldog named Pepper. Reese had also written a touching tribute for Pepper, whom she described as a “devoted family member.”
Rest in peace, Hank.
