Souleymane Bamba, serving as a technical director for the Turkish second division team Adanaspor, became ill prior to the club’s Friday match against Manisa FC. He was urgently taken to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hospital, where he later passed away. In an official statement, Adanaspor expressed their sorrow: “Our technical director Souleymane Bamba, who fell ill before yesterday’s match against Manisa Football Club, was transported to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hospital, where he sadly lost his fight for life. We extend our condolences to his family and our community.”

Bamba came through the youth academy at Paris Saint-Germain and made his senior debut for the club in 2004. In 2011, he moved to England, signing with Leicester City, and later played for teams such as Leeds United, Cardiff City, and Middlesbrough. He hung up his boots in 2022. Internationally, Bamba earned 46 caps for Ivory Coast, scoring once and playing a key role in the squad that finished as runners-up at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.Bamba emerged from Paris Saint-Germain’s youth academy and made his senior debut for the club in 2004.
