André, who won the Copa Libertadores—South America’s equivalent of the Champions League—with Fluminense in 2023, has earned five caps for Brazil.

He joins Wolves for an initial fee of £18.5 million, with an additional £2.5 million in potential add-ons.

The 23-year-old had previously been linked with a move to Fulham earlier in the transfer window but expressed a strong interest in joining the Premier League.

Wolves’ sporting director Matt Hobbs expressed his excitement about the signing, saying, “I thought we were going to miss out on him, so I’m unbelievably excited to have him join us. He’s physically strong, and we believe he’ll thrive in the Premier League. We’re bringing in a player on the rise, not one who’s already peaked.”

In addition to André, the West Midlands club also acquired England goalkeeper Sam Johnstone from Crystal Palace for £10 million and brought in Ajax winger Carlos Forbs on loan.

Forbs, 20, joined Ajax from Manchester City in 2023 without making a senior appearance for Pep Guardiola’s team. The Portugal U21 international made 37 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring three goals, and has featured in six games for Ajax this season.

André’s signing brings the club’s total summer acquisitions to eight, including England Under-21 midfielder Tommy Doyle, Portuguese winger Rodrigo Gomes, Brazilian defender Pedro Lima, French youth international defender Bastien Meupiyou, and Norway striker Jørgen Strand Larsen, who is on loan from Celta Vigo.

Meanwhile, Fabio Silva has departed Wolves on a season-long loan to La Liga side Las Palmas. Wolves had set a club record when they signed Silva as an 18-year-old from Porto for £35.6 million in 2020.
