Barcelona have completed the signing of Spain playmaker Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig.

The 26-year-old, who previously played for Barcelona’s youth teams, returns to the club in a deal reportedly valued at 60 million euros (£51 million). Olmo had left Barcelona in 2014 to join Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb.

Olmo has agreed to a six-year contract with a release clause set at 500 million euros (£429 million).

He was joint top-scorer at Euro 2024 with three goals, playing a key role in helping Spain secure their record fourth title.

“Olmo is known for his individual skill and his ability to connect with teammates,” Barcelona stated. “He has a keen eye for goal, as demonstrated at Euro 2024, and is dangerous both inside and outside the box.”

During his time with RB Leipzig, Olmo won two German Cups after joining the club in 2020.

“A young club and a young player. We grew together, claimed our first trophies, and made history,” Olmo posted on X. “Thank you, RB Leipzig, you’ll always have a special place in my heart.”
