Shocking  News: Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay has entered into a dangerous agreement, planning to make……………..

Andrew Heaney ended an eight-start winless streak as the Texas Rangers built an early five-run advantage and defeated the Los Angeles Angels 7-4 on Sunday.

Heaney (5-13), who is just one loss shy of leading the majors in defeats, pitched six-plus innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on three hits. This marked his first victory since July 21. The win was supported by home runs from Marcus Semien, Nathaniel Lowe, and Ezequiel Duran.

For Heaney, run support has been a rare luxury. The 33-year-old left-hander had received two or fewer runs of support in each of his previous seven starts and in 18 of his 27 starts this season. His 3.55 average run support was the fourth lowest in the American League prior to Sunday’s game.

Kirby Yates secured his 29th save in 30 opportunities after David Robertson left runners on the corners in the eighth with Texas holding a one-run lead.

The Rangers won three of the four games in the series against the Angels, matching their season-high of four consecutive series victories, a streak previously accomplished from April 26 to May 8.

The Angels’ 20-year-old right-hander Caden Dana (1-1) made his second major league start but was chased after facing just 11 batters. Dana, called up from Double-A Rocket City on Aug. 30, surrendered five runs on seven hits, including three home runs, and left the game with the bases loaded and no outs in the second inning.

Ryan Zeferjahn replaced Dana and stopped the damage by striking out Wyatt Langford and getting Adolis García to ground into a double play.

Heaney retired the first nine Los Angeles batters before walking Taylor Ward to lead off the fourth inning. Zach Neto followed with a double down the left-field line, and Charles Leblanc, recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sept. 1 for the second time this season, hit his first homer of the season with the Angels, pulling a 3-2 slider down the left-field line.

The Angels narrowed the gap to 5-4 in the seventh inning when Michael Stefanic hit a sacrifice fly off José Leclerc, scoring Matt Thaiss. Thaiss had reached second base after a fly ball into left field was dropped in foul territory by Langford, but after a successful challenge, it was ruled that Langford was in fair territory when the drop occurred, awarding Thaiss second base.

Texas added two unearned runs in the eighth inning on a two-out single by Travis Jankowski, which was overrun in right field by Jordyn Adams.

**Up next:** The Angels will begin a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins on Monday, with left-hander Reid Detmers (3-6, 5.87 ERA) facing off against Twins right-hander David Festa (2-5, 4.75 ERA).
