Few expected Kate Martin to become a rotation player in the WNBA after what was considered a solid but not outstanding career at Iowa.
Early in the season, however, she seemed to be proving those predictions wrong, emerging as one of the Aces’ top reserves.
Martin demonstrated her ability to hit 3-pointers at a high rate, shooting 37.5 percent from beyond the arc in her first 30 games. In her only chance to start, she scored 13 points on just seven attempts. So why is she not playing now?
Her minutes have significantly decreased as the season has progressed, and she has barely seen the court since the All-Star break.
