Breaking News: Bayern Munich have officially secured Jonathan Tah on loan from… Read more for details
Throughout much of the offseason, two key questions have surrounded Bayern Munich:
Can the Bavarians overcome Bayer Leverkusen and clinch the Bundesliga title for the 2024/25 season?
Why is Bayern’s management considering offloading Matthijs de Ligt while bringing in Jonathan Tah?
Didi Hamann offered his take on both issues with clear, concise remarks.
“In my view, Leverkusen will win the league again,” Hamann stated during an interview on Sky (as reported by Abendzeitung’s Maximilian Koch). “And I’ve also heard that Tah isn’t coming to Bayern. Selling De Ligt and acquiring Tah doesn’t add up for me either.”
Sky Sport journalist Kerry Hau provided further insights into Hamann’s opinion on the potential sale of De Ligt.
“I wouldn’t have let him go. He didn’t always replicate his Ajax performances in Turin or Munich, but for me, he’s been Bayern’s most consistent central defender over the past six to eight months,” Hamann remarked. “He’s vocal and elevates his teammates. I don’t see that in the other central defenders. De Ligt would’ve been a lock in my lineup.”
What the future holds for both these situations remains uncertain, but many Bayern fans seem to agree with Hamann’s view on Tah.
