Karlsruhe continued their unbeaten run with a solid victory over Schalke, making it four wins from their first five games. The hosts started aggressively, frequently attacking down the left wing. Schalke eventually found their footing but mainly focused on counter-attacks as Karlsruhe controlled possession. Budu Zivzivadze opened the scoring with his fifth goal of the season just before halftime and secured the win with a second goal in the 73rd minute.

Newly promoted Preußen Münster claimed a well-earned second point of the season in a thrilling match against high-flying Paderborn, with Joshua Mees scoring a dramatic equalizer in stoppage time. Paderborn dominated early on but were surprised when Mees scored with a header following a long throw. Filip Bilbija equalized shortly after, and Raphael Obermair gave the visitors the lead just after the restart. Hólmbert Aron Friðjónsson headed in to equalize late in the game, but Ilyas Ansah restored Paderborn’s lead, only for Mees to score again moments before the final whistle to secure a draw.
