Breaking News: Leeds United Has Appointed Patrick Bamford As New……………………read more.
Patrick Bamford has been excluded from Leeds United’s squad for their match against Burnley at Elland Road on Saturday, even though Daniel Farke had deemed him fit to play.
Leeds opted to keep an unchanged starting XI after the international break, aiming to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship. Mateo Joseph was given the nod to lead the attack, supported by Wilfried Gnonto, Manor Solomon, and Brenden Aaronson.
Surprisingly, Bamford, the team’s number nine and fan favorite, was not even listed as a substitute, a decision that raised eyebrows when the team sheet was revealed.
Farke had previously confirmed Bamford’s fitness during a press conference on Thursday. The striker, who had been sidelined with injury all season, trained over the break and was expected to at least make the bench, given Joseph’s impressive form.
However, Bamford was left out in favor of Joseph starting, while Joel Piroe, Largie Ramazani, and Joe Gelhardt occupied spots on the bench, leaving no room for him.
The 31-year-old’s situation looks even more uncertain, especially with Daniel James sidelined for four weeks due to a hamstring injury. James has been a key player under Farke, and his return could further limit opportunities for Bamford to reclaim a place in the squad.
