Caitlin Clark continues to make history in the WNBA, setting a single-season record. There are concerns about a potential suspension for Clark during the playoffs, but the Indiana Fever has clarified the situation.
Kelsey Plum generated buzz during a halftime interview following the Las Vegas Aces’ 78-74 victory over Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on Friday. When asked about her team’s defensive success against the Fever, her unexpected response quickly became a topic of conversation.
“I don’t know, we have good players,” Plum replied, diverting the focus from strategy to her personality.
Plum Responds to Criticism
While some viewers deemed her remarks “rude,” Plum took the criticism in stride. Following the game, which improved the Aces’ record to 24-13, she laughed off the backlash.
“I thought we did a great job as a team, but Kelsey Mitchell was on fire,” she explained. “She scored a couple on me, so I didn’t want to say anything foolish, so I just asked them to come back to me.”
On the court, Plum had a strong performance with 18 points and a game-high plus-17 rating. Caitlin Clark also scored 18 but faced challenges in the first half. Mitchell led the Fever with 20 points in a closely contested game.
“I don’t even have social media on my phone,” Plum stated. “No offense, but we have talented players. I would expect that. It’s not disrespectful; we’re all competitors. People these days don’t speak the truth.”
