So Sad: Philadelphia Eagles referee John Hussey has been handed a three-month suspension following the incident……read more.

On-demand broadcasts have truly spoiled us, and the same goes for recorded programming. There was a time when many of us were too busy to catch live TV, unless it was for a Philadelphia Eagles game. But now, we can watch whatever we want, whenever we want. Raise your hand if that’s led to watching more TV than ever before.

Yep, just as we suspected.

We caught Philly’s Week 2 game live, but let’s say we hadn’t and recorded it instead. Even if someone had spoiled the outcome for us, we still would’ve rushed home, watched the game, and expected an Eagles win. That’s how stunning this loss was.

We’re almost ready to move on to discussing the New Orleans Saints, but we can’t shake the shock of this collapse. With that said, here’s a list of Eagles players and coaches who find themselves in our doghouse.

We love you guys, but seriously… What’s going on?

Nick Sirianni – Head Coach
The chatter about Nick Sirianni’s job and his decision-making has intensified since Monday Night Football. It’s clear he’s not known for his X’s and O’s, but if he can’t manage the game better, there’s legitimate concern about this team’s future with him at the helm. He’s a winner, but he needs to improve. Ask him, and we’re sure he’d agree.

Vic Fangio – Defensive Coordinator
It’s hard to believe in Vic Fangio right now. His influence is all over the NFL, with many defensive coordinators running variations of his scheme. The problem? When his defense fails to generate pressure (as the Eagles aren’t), it unravels fast. This system struggles against good running teams, and even when there’s some success, Philly’s tackling issues overshadow it. Fangio needs to find solutions—and quickly.

Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis – Defensive Tackles
The Eagles used back-to-back first-round picks on Jordan Davis (2022) and Jalen Carter (2023). On Monday night, the pair combined for just three tackles. Meanwhile, Thomas Booker, a reserve, recorded three solo tackles on his own. This defense desperately needs these two to step up.

Bryce Huff – EDGE
Where’s Bryce Huff? He was a non-factor in Week 2, failing to register a sack, a tackle, or even a mention on the stat sheet. While he’s not expected to outperform Haason Reddick, he needs to be at least serviceable, and right now, he’s not even close to that.

The Eagles’ pass rush as a whole
The Eagles’ pass rush is producing next to nothing, and Huff isn’t the only issue. Nolan Smith, Brandon Graham, Josh Sweat, and the defensive interior aren’t consistently pressuring the quarterback. And even when they get close, they’re not finishing the job. Ultimately, this points back to Vic Fangio. There’s still time, but adjustments need to happen fast.v
