Breaking News: Kieran Trippier Is Back Again………………….read more.
The 33-year-old England international was an unused substitute in Newcastle’s 1-0 victory over Southampton on Saturday.
Trippier, who signed with the club from Atletico Madrid in 2022, currently finds himself behind former Southampton full-back Tino Livramento in the competition for the right-back spot.
Newcastle prevented Trippier from leaving the club in January, despite interest from Bayern Munich and Saudi Arabia.
There have been reports linking Trippier with a move to Everton, where he could reunite with Sean Dyche, his former manager at Burnley for three years.
When asked about the rumors during a press conference on Thursday, Dyche responded: “His name has popped up, like many others. Funny how his name surfaces when we’re short a right-back.”
Everton are set to be without full-back Ashley Young for their upcoming game against Tottenham, following his red card in their loss to Brighton over the weekend.
Trippier, who has earned 54 international caps, started England’s first six matches at Euro 2024 but was benched for the final in favor of Luke Shaw.
The former Tottenham player still has two years remaining on his contract with Newcastle.
