Done Deal: Brighton Has Agreed To Signed Viktor Gyökeres On Loan………………………read more.
Brighton striker Danny Welbeck expressed hope that his team can learn from their 2-2 Premier League draw with Nottingham Forest. After falling behind to an early Chris Wood penalty, Brighton surged ahead with goals from Jack Hinshelwood and Welbeck before halftime, the latter scoring a superb free-kick curled around the wall into the far corner.
However, Forest equalized through Ramon Sosa, and the match turned chaotic late on. Morgan Gibbs-White was sent off for a challenge on Joao Pedro, and both Nuno Espirito Santo and Fabian Hurzeler were also dismissed for their reactions.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Welbeck shared his frustration: “Being 2-1 up, it’s tough to accept the draw. It’s a harsh lesson, but we need to learn from it, work on the training pitch, and make sure it doesn’t happen again. It’s frustrating because we should’ve closed out the game, and there’s a lot of disappointment in the dressing room, including the fans.”
Welbeck, pleased with his free-kick goal, added: “I’ve come close a few times, so I was happy with that one. But we’ve got to move forward. The dressing room culture is great, and everyone is eager to improve. We’ll take the positives of being unbeaten and use the frustrations of today and last week to push us to get better. We’ve been naive at times, but we’ll learn from that.”
