What a sad news: Alabama football top key player Malachi Moore will not play for the next six weeks due to…..see more

When Alabama football takes the field against Georgia on Saturday, it appears two of its injured starters could be back with the team. When the SEC released the Crimson Tide’s first availability report of the week, neither Malachi Moore, nor Cole Adams, were listed.

DeBoer said on Monday that Moore had returned to practice last week, when the Tide had a bye after its Sept. 14 matchup with Wisconsin. Moore had been in concussion protocols with a head injury.

During his Wednesday ‘Hey Coach’ radio show appearance, DeBoer further indicated Moore would return for the matchup with Georgia.

“He’ll be back,” the coach said, after a caller inquired about the fifth-year senior’s status.

Adams suffered an injured arm that looked severe on television in the South Florida game. He missed the trip to Wisconsin, but DeBoer recently began sounding more optimistic about his health.

On Wednesday, the program released a photo of Adams in practice. The redshirt freshman wideout was wearing a brace on his right elbow, but was not in a black jersey, which signifies non-contact participants.

DeBoer was asked by “Hey Coach” host and Crimson Tide football play-by-play broadcaster Chris Stewart about who might be back at punt returner on Saturday. Stewart mentioned Adams health, as well as Jaylen Mbakwe and Ryan Williams as possible options.

“It’ll be done by committee back there, really expecting all of those guys to be able and available to go out there,” DeBoer said. “Depending on where we’re at in the game. Sometimes it just depends on what the last series was. Maybe (Mbakwe) was on the field and we need to make sure it’s an offensive guy, or just kind of the flow of the game and who’s got the hot hand. So we trust and believe in all of those guys. Germie Bernard.”
