Raúl Jiménez’s goodbye to Wolves
“Years ago, we arrived in Wolverhampton with a dream in our hearts and a boundless passion for football. Little did we know that this city would become more than just a home—it would be where our family grew, where we laughed, cried, and created unforgettable memories, like coffee time with the girls! We will miss you all, and we will miss our friends. Wolverhampton is where our wolf pack (their children) was born,” said Daniela Basso, Raúl Jiménez’s partner, reflecting on their time there.
Raúl added, “It has been an honor and a privilege to represent this club alongside my teammates. Every time I stepped onto the field, every goal, every moment of joy, and every tear was met with your unwavering support. I can’t express what that has meant to me. Together, we’ve experienced moments of glory, joy, and tenderness, as well as very difficult times.”
This was a reference to his skull fracture at the end of 2020, an injury that sidelined him for a long time and put his career in jeopardy.
Jiménez continued, “Thanks to the strength I drew from my family’s love and the constant support and encouragement from all of you, I was able to rise again and return to the pitch, fighting for the colors I hold so dear. We will never forget the affection you showed us in every moment, in every chant, in every goal celebration. As this chapter closes and I take on a new challenge, Wolverhampton will always hold a special place in my heart and in my family’s hearts.”
Daniela concluded the video with, “It’s time to face new challenges and write a new chapter, but we want you to know that we will never forget your support.”
Raúl’s final words to Wolves fans were, “And remember, wherever I go—’Once a Wolf, Always a Wolf.’ Thank you all. Si señor!”
Jiménez’s time at Wolves
The Mexican striker joined Wolverhampton in 2018 following a fairly successful stint at Benfica. At the time, there were doubts about whether he could regain his top form.
