Deal Confirm: Tottenham Ready To Bring Dele Alli Back After…………………….read more.
Dele Alli may be preparing to embark on the next phase of his career, this time outside the Premier League.
The 28-year-old, who hasn’t played competitively since February 2023, is currently a free agent.
The former Tottenham midfielder has been training with Everton, but no new contract has been finalized. Alli is working to prove his fitness to manager Sean Dyche in hopes of securing a deal at Goodison Park.
However, with no agreement reached yet, an Italian club has reportedly expressed interest in signing him.
According to Secolo XIX via Sport Witness, Serie A side Genoa is exploring the possibility of signing Alli to fill a midfield gap.
While Antonio Candreva was a serious target for the club, doubts have emerged, especially after Ruslan Malinovskyi suffered a serious ankle injury two weeks ago. This has led Genoa to explore the free agent market, and Alli has been mentioned as an option, though discussions have yet to lead to anything concrete.
Genoa is still keeping an eye on the situation, but Alli’s fitness remains a major concern.
The former Tottenham star has been seen training hard over the summer on social media.
Alli last played for Everton in August 2022 during a 1-0 loss to Chelsea.
Sean Dyche addressed the possibility of Alli signing a new contract but was noncommittal on the club’s plans, emphasizing that Alli would need game time to regain full fitness. Dyche likened the situation to an extended pre-season, noting that it could take three or four matches for Alli to reach peak fitness.
