After Atalanta’s loss to Juventus in the Coppa Italia Final, they now face a bigger challenge: the Bundesliga champions in the Europa League Final next week.

Scamacca noted, “Every defeat offers lessons, and we’ll remember this for our next Final,” during an interview with Sky Sport Italia.

He was unable to play against Juventus due to a one-match suspension.

“I believe we performed well and gave it our all on the pitch, but small margins make all the difference. Such things are part of football,” he reflected.

When asked if he wondered how he could have assisted his teammates at the Olimpico, he replied, “I’ve thought about it, but it’s a challenging question, and it’s easy to answer now.”

Reaching two finals in one season is a significant achievement for both him and the club, and he emphasized the need to transform this disappointment into motivation for the upcoming match.

“I’m focused on giving my best, supporting the team, and bringing the trophy home,” he added.

Regarding Leverkusen, he acknowledged their impressive track record: “They have remarkable stats and haven’t lost in a year, but every game starts at 0-0, and we will fight until the end.”

Scamacca does not view the Germans as an easier opponent than Juventus. “I can’t say; their unbeaten streak indicates they’re a strong team, so I don’t anticipate an easier game,” he stated.

He believes that the stakes will be higher than in the previous match, but noted, “If we’ve reached this final, we’re just as good as them.”

He advised against feeling pressure, instead encouraging his team to embrace the moment and enjoy it: “We don’t know when this opportunity will arise again, so we should have fun and, ideally, win.”

Although Scamacca won the Conference League with West Ham last season, he missed the final due to injury. He feels that the Hammers’ success should motivate Atalanta next week.

“Last season, we likely finished 12th with West Ham; I can’t recall precisely, but European matches are always distinct,” he remarked.

“We mustn’t get caught up in Leverkusen’s unbeaten run; instead, we should concentrate on our performance, grow, and fully commit to our approach.”
