Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has sent a strong message ahead of the upcoming Premier League match against Crystal Palace. The 32-year-old has demonstrated his commitment to helping Liverpool compete for the Premier League title this season, having started the 2024/25 campaign impressively with six goals and five assists.

Currently, the Reds lead the Premier League table with 15 points from a possible 18, maintain a perfect winning record in the Champions League, and have advanced to the next round of the Carabao Cup. Earlier this week, Liverpool secured a 2-0 victory over Bologna at Anfield, where Salah assisted Alexis Mac Allister for the first goal and then scored himself with a spectacular long-range shot.

Despite contributing to a goal every 90 minutes, Salah’s uncertain future is capturing headlines. The Egypt international, along with teammates Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, has a contract that expires next summer. Salah hinted at his situation in September, stating, “I had a good summer and had a long time to myself to try to stay positive because, as you know, it’s my last year at the club. I just want to enjoy it and I don’t want to think about it. I feel like I’m free to play football, and then we’ll see what happens next year.”

Since that remark, discussions about a contract extension, which Salah desires, have persisted, leading to Liverpool manager Arne Slot being frequently questioned about the contracts. In contrast to Salah’s clarity, the Dutch manager didn’t provide a straightforward response, expressing his annoyance at the repetitive inquiries.

In a press conference on Friday, he said, “Contracts?! (laughs) I was hoping your last question wouldn’t include the word ‘contract’ because I was saying ‘Trent is doing like this and he is doing like this…’. It’s the same boring answer as always. I could understand if you asked me this once every two weeks, but if you ask me again after just two or three days, you’ll get the same answer, and people feel that I’m boring them! So, try it again after the international break.”

Amid the ongoing discussions, Salah appears focused on the present, recently sharing a photo of himself in the gym on his Instagram story, showcasing his impressive physique.
