Nottingham Forest star wanted by European club with an £8m offer possibly enough

Nottingham Forest star Emmanuel Dennis has garnered interest from European clubs, with a potential £8 million offer reportedly enough to secure his services. Dennis, a versatile attacker, could be on the move after struggling for regular game time at the Premier League club. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, including a notable stint with Watford where he scored 10 goals in the 2021-22 season, Dennis has found himself on the fringes of Steve Cooper’s squad at Forest.

The Nigerian international joined Nottingham Forest in August 2022 for around £20 million, but since then, he has struggled to cement a regular starting place. With Forest having made several attacking signings over the last couple of transfer windows, including players like Taiwo Awoniyi and Morgan Gibbs-White, competition for forward positions has been fierce. As a result, Dennis has largely been limited to appearances off the bench or in cup competitions, with only a handful of league starts under his belt since joining the club.

Now, it appears that European clubs are ready to swoop in, sensing an opportunity to revive the 25-year-old’s career. Clubs from top European leagues are reportedly monitoring the situation closely, with a transfer fee in the region of £8 million likely to be enough to tempt Forest into selling. For Dennis, a move could provide the chance to reignite his career and get back to the form that made him a sought-after player during his time in Belgium with Club Brugge, where he impressed in both domestic competition and the UEFA Champions League.

While Nottingham Forest have not publicly confirmed any interest or discussions regarding the sale, the prospect of recouping a significant portion of their initial investment could be attractive to the club. Furthermore, a move would free up space in Forest’s squad for other potential signings or squad reshuffles. If the interest from Europe materializes into concrete offers, Dennis may find himself playing in a different league soon, as both the player and club weigh their options ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
