Sunderland have signed goalkeeper Simon Moore from their Championship rivals, Coventry City.

The 34-year-old will join the Black Cats after completing a three-year stint with the Sky Blues at the end of this month.

Moore has agreed to a two-year contract with Sunderland, with the club holding an option for an additional year.

This move follows Sunderland’s sale of backup goalkeeper Alex Bass to Notts County for an undisclosed fee.

Moore has previously played in the Premier League with Sheffield United and was a regular in the team that earned promotion from League One to the Championship in 2017.

He also brings extensive league experience from his time with Brentford, Cardiff City, and a loan spell at Bristol City.
