The Detroit Lions have let go of Cameron Sutton following a two-week police search in Florida for the cornerback, who was facing charges of domestic violence.
The Detroit Lions have fired cornerback Cameron Sutton in the midst of a police hunt for him in connection with a Florida domestic abuse accusation.
Sutton is still wanted by police for aggravated battery-domestic violence in connection with an alleged incident on March 7. The Lions have announced that they are severing connections with Sutton, who is only a year into his three-year, $33 million contract in Detroit.
Two weeks after they began their search, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office released a police arrest warrant on Wednesday morning. They are asking for assistance in finding him.
The department also posted a license plate for a Jeep Grand Wagoneer that Sutton is allegedly driving on social media.
Since issuance of the warrant on March 7, authorities have not been able to locate the 29-year-old, according to ESPN.
