Luke Keary backflips on retirement call, signs with Catalans Dragons

Keary has inked a twoyear deal with French club Catalans, who play in the top flight of the British rugby league system – the Super League.

With over 200 NRL games under his belt, the half will bring considerable experience to the side.

It is perhaps not a major surprise that the Perpignan-based team sought to sign Keary, having previously used the services of fellow Australian playmakers James Maloney and Mitchell Pearce.

Currently, there is a host of former NRL talent at Catalans, including Tariq Sims, Matt Ikavalu and Sio Siua Taukeiaho.

Nick Cotric and Elliott Whitehead will also join the club alongside Keary in 2025.

“Luke will be a sensational addition to our team next season,” Dragons coach Steve McNamara said.

“He is an outstanding player, leader and person. We are very happy he has chosen to come to Dragons in 2025.”
