Deal Canceled: Moments ago, a Golden Eaglets-eligible player from West Ham refused to sign with Derby County.
EFL Championship newcomers Derby County have announced their new intake of full-time scholars for the 2024-2025 season.
Twelve players have signed scholarship deals with the Rams, including Charles Ebuka Agbawodikeizu, who is eligible for the Golden Eaglets and has joined from West Ham United.
Sean Corry, Braidy Connell-Webster, Rio Canoville, AJ Doyle, Alfie Friars, Khace Gordon, Israel Green, Dantel Hodges, Marley Mintus, Harvey Rees, and James Ward have also signed scholarship deals.
In the upcoming season, Ebuka aims to debut in the U18 Premier League North.
The new players were introduced to the club at the new scholars’ induction evening at Pride Park Stadium in late June.
During an induction ceremony in the Toyota Suite, Ebuka’s family attended and witnessed him signing the agreement.
Ebuka shared that he joined Derby County to seize the opportunity to make his first-team debut in the coming years and is committed to working hard in the upcoming season.
Derby County also confirmed that Nigerian attacker Justin Oguntolu has entered the second year of his scholarship with the club.
