IT A DONE DEAL: Another mega star player committed to the Texas Longhorns just…..
The Texas A&M Aggies have excelled in the 2025 recruiting cycle, currently holding the No. 6 overall class according to the On3 Team Rankings.
On Tuesday, their class got even stronger with the commitment of four-star Hitchcock (TX) wide receiver Kelshaun Johnson, who chose the Aggies over the Texas Longhorns.
Johnson’s top five schools included Texas A&M and Texas, both seen as frontrunners, along with USC, Arkansas, and Texas Tech.
“They are great schools,” Johnson remarked. “I like the coaches at Texas and Texas A&M, both have good offenses, and the coaches at Arkansas and USC are great too.”
Ultimately, the Aggies came out on top.
Johnson had originally planned to announce his decision last week, but as a Houston native, he postponed it due to Hurricane Beryl.
A consensus four-star recruit, Johnson is ranked as the No. 198 player in the nation, the No. 22 wide receiver, and the No. 30 player in Texas according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
247Sports rates him even higher, listing him as the No. 196 player nationally, the No. 20 receiver, and the No. 27 player in the state.
With Mike Elko set to lead the Aggies’ football program and Colin Klein directing the offense, Johnson is poised to join a high-powered team aiming for a spot in the expanded College Football Playoff.
