The Comoros international made a significant impact at Easter Road during the latter part of last season, scoring 11 goals after joining from Germany in January. There were slight hopes that Myziane might extend his stay in Edinburgh, but he dismissed this possibility in May as he aimed to secure a permanent move away from Hertha.

Prior to his stint at Hibs, the former Lyon talent had been relegated to Hertha’s B team due to strained relations with then-manager Pal Dardai. However, the 25-year-old now seems close to the fresh start he desires, with journalist Fabrizio Romano reporting that he’s nearing a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Kholood. Romano notes that Myziane has already completed a medical ahead of the anticipated transfer.

Al-Kholood, newly promoted to the Pro League, will be competing in the Saudi top-flight for the first time in the upcoming season. The club, based in Ar-Rass, is managed by Portuguese former defender Paulo Duarte and plays its home games at the 8,000-capacity Al-Hazem Club Stadium.

Despite Myziane’s bright performance in an otherwise disappointing 2023/24 season at Easter Road, his prolific scoring wasn’t enough to keep Hibs from dropping into the bottom six, leading to the dismissal of former manager Nick Montgomery. Myziane scored his final goal for Hibs in a 1-1 draw away at Livingston on the last day of the season and afterwards expressed his future ambitions. “I want to play at the highest level I can,” he said. “I will see what happens in the transfer market. If I have a good opportunity to move, it’s logical for me to want to play at a high level. I need to discuss with Hertha about the future. It’s clear that I want to leave Hertha, so we’ll see what happens.”

Myziane, a product of Lyon’s youth academy, was once considered one of the top young talents in French football, even attracting interest from clubs like Barcelona. He moved from Lyon in 2018, reportedly with a €100m release clause. After a frustrating period, he transferred to Hertha in 2021.
