Shocking news: Leeds United ‘plot’ transfer raid for Birmingham City star but face…..

Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Birmingham City midfielder Jordan James, according to Football Insider. The Whites face competition from an unnamed Premier League club for the Wales international’s signature.

James was a standout performer for the Blues last season, scoring eight goals in 42 league appearances as the team was relegated to League One. Football Insider reports that Leeds have a “strong interest” in James, who made his international debut in Wales’ Euro 2024 qualifier against Croatia, playing alongside United players Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon.

Versatile in midfield, James is in the final year of his contract with Birmingham City. The 20-year-old has already made over 100 senior appearances for his boyhood club. There is speculation that Birmingham might sell James to recoup some funds after spending £11.7 million on eight new players in a bid to secure promotion back to the Championship.

Leeds’ manager, Daniel Farke, has emphasized the need to strengthen their midfield before the transfer window closes on August 30. The club recently had a €4 million bid for FC Koln midfielder Dejan Ljubicic rejected. With the departures of Archie Gray and Glen Kamara, Leeds are looking to bolster their midfield options, having only brought in Joe Rothwell on a season-long loan from Bournemouth.
