Derby County is expected to announce a new signing shortly, as the player has agreed to the move
Fotboll Direkt has reported recent updates on Derby County’s pursuit of DjurgÃ¥rdens IF goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström, stating that his transfer to the Rams will soon be officially announced.
According to Fotboll Direkt, after meeting with the Championship club earlier this week, Zetterström has agreed to the move. Derby County is expected to pay just over £2 million for Zetterström, with potential add-ons that could bring the total to £600,000.
Last week, we covered comments from the Swedish goalkeeper expressing his dream of playing in England, which now seems likely to come true. Djurgårdens IF is reportedly searching for a replacement for the 26-year-old, considering a move for Al Fateh goalkeeper Jacob Rinne, with Brommapojkarna’s Filip Sidklev also being an option.
Zetterström has made 15 league appearances for Djurgårdens IF this season and is under contract until June 2025. The Stockholm-born keeper, who debuted for Sweden last year, will continue his career at Derby County.
